Stortford Music Festival.Music fans are in for a real treat, with
the organisers billing the event as
having something for everyone -- from
acoustic, blues and folk to rock, funk
and jazz.
The acts headlining the two-day
extravaganza on the recreation ground
behind St Mary8217s Catholic School on
May 3 and 4 are melodic four-piece
AloneMe and Cambridge-based folk
band No ID.
Also on the bill are Mozzy Green, who
have twice been nominated for this
year8217s Indy Awards, plus Stuart
Mason, winner of20078217s UK
Songwriting Contest.
Among the other 40-plus acts
performing over the two days are
rockers Caimbo, who recently
appeared at Rhodes Rocks!
at the
Rhodes Arts Complex, indie dance
troupe Little Thiefand Stortford8217s
own Sub Pop Sunday.
Festival director Annie Compton said:
8220We8217re really pleased with the quality
ofthe excellent bands who have signed
up to appear at this year8217s festival.
8220We8217ve got 46 acts signed up, several
from the excellent Club Blub [regular
music night held at the HalfMoon in
Stortford] and, on top ofthat, there8217s
musical workshops including one for
ukeleles, which is the latest craze
taking the country by storm.8221
There will also be an arts marquee,
children8217s workshops, poetry, visual
arts and youth theatre.
