offering a TA Training package
over the summer holidays to
enable those at university, in Sixth
Form or unemployed to join the TA
and do all their military training back-
to-back during July and August.
The courses, starting on 26th July,
will cover all basic military skills, from
drill, fieldcraft, map-reading, first aid
to live firing on the range. All travel
expenses plus food and
accommodation costs will be met, and
including a tax-free lump sum bonus
at the end of the training year, the
package is worth some 1631600 overall.
After training you will be qualified
as a TA soldier and able to undertake
adventurous training at home and
overseas. There are also some eighteen
military logistical trades you can
follow. There is also an officer training
course that covers leadership and
managerial aspects for those with the
right academic qualifications.
Being a TA soldier or officer will also
enhance CVs 8211 many employers are
keen to recruit people who have
benefited from the personal
development, team building and
leadership and trade skills learned
through military training. The TA is a
branch of the Army and appeals to
those interested in adventure,
challenge, variety and fun, learning
new skills and making new friends.
To join the course, candidates must
be aged seventeen or older, be a
British, Commonwealth or Republic of
Ireland citizen and have resided in the
UK for ideally a minimum of five
years. They should be medically and
physically fit and, if under eighteen,
have the support of their parents.
Before attending the course,
candidates must first pass a selection
course that confirms their medical and
physical fitness and this will be held
in Grantham over the weekend of
12th to 13th July.
